Thomas Casselberry, who for a number of years was a residient of Shelby and engaged in the hardware business but moved to the Pacific coast twelve years ago, died at his home in Spokane, WA. May 12, 1922 at the age of 72. The remains were brought to Shelby for burial.

Obit:
Thomas E Casselberry was born in Greenville (Bond Co.), IL March 28, 1850 and departed this life at Spokane WA May 12, 1922.
He grew to manhood in IL and IA and September 26, 1872 married Miss Ella Grubbs. They came to Genoa NE in 1886 and to Shelby in 1888 and moved to Spokane WA in 1910. He leaves his wife and one son, Charles Casselberry of Shelby and one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Lisco of Spokane WA, one brother, three sisters and grandchildren. he was converted about 38 years ago and he never forgot his conversion. For over 27 years he was a member of the Shelby Methodist church. He was a quiet, unassuming, honest christian man, a kind and loving husband and father, a good neighbor and citizen.
Funeral services were held in the Shelby Methodist church May 17, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. G.T. Savery and Rev. C.E. Rush. A long concourse of relatives and friends followed the remains to the place of intermnet in the Shelby cemetary.
